Music Monday

Haven't done one of these for a while! Ok, I haven't posted much the last 2 weeks...that's because I keep telling myself "no I need to get my pictures up" and then I don't do that, so it takes longer and longer...and so today I decided just to post!

Come down to the river
Come and let yourself in
Make good on a promise
To never hurt again
If you're lost and lonely
You're Broken down
Bring all of your troubles
Come lay 'em down

All you sinners
And the weak at heart
All you helpless
On the boulevards
Wherever you are now
Whatever evil you've found
Bring all of your troubles
And come lay 'em down

We're all tied to the same old failing
Finding shelter in things we know
We're all dirty like corrupted small towns
We'll bring our troubles
We'll bring our troubles
Lay 'em down

All you rich men
And the high above
All of those with and without love
All you burdened broken down
Bring all of your troubles
Come lay 'em down

Come lay 'em down [x4]

Come all you broken [Come lay 'em down]
Come all you helpless [Come lay 'em down]
Bring all your burden [Come lay 'em down]
And just lay 'em down [Come lay 'em down]

Come all you broken [Come lay 'em down]
Come all you helpless [Come lay 'em down]
Bring all your troubles [Come lay 'em down]
Just lay 'em down

Come lay 'em down [x3]

Thursday Thanks Tank #37

Is it just me, or is this year flying by already? I just looked at the calendar and it's MID-March!?! How did that happen???

So I'll hurry and blurt out my thankful thoughts before time gets away from me further!

1. Our new women's accountability group. Still not exactly sure how it's going to work, but it was a LOT of fun getting together and talking, hopefully as we get to know each other better we can start helping each other with our hurts, conflicts, spiritual struggles, etc.

2. My new design software. I'm SO excited to finally have in my possession a FULL version of Photoshop, some top really good web design software, and a bunch of other programs that are going to be FUN to learn and use and hopefully will be worth their weight in gold (except they were downloaded and are files, so really they don't weigh anything at all! So that wasn't a good idiom to use.)

3. No car payment. Car payment would have been due yesterday. AHHHHH feels so nice!!!

4. Music. It calms me so much. When I start getting cranky, I just start my worship music playlist and everything starts feeling alright. God knew what He was doing when He gave us the ability to make music!!

5. Progress. I don't know exactly what I'm getting done, but it sure feels like I'm getting it done quickly! Maybe the laundry will be an accomplishment tonight? hahaha yeah.

Edit: I've been doing these for over a year now! How cool is that? I'm only to 37 because I missed SEVERAL weeks this year. Maybe next year at this time I'll have done all 52...now THAT would be cool!

Do my favorite movies say something about me?

Ok that's not all of them, but I ran into some pictures of my favorite movies and I was thinking about what they must say about me. So strange because if I'm going to go OUT to see a movie I'll tend to pick an action movie (Xmen, Transformers, Batman), but when I just want to cuddle up and watch a movie at home...these are ones that I could always handle seeing again.

Why yes, my purse does smell like powerade!

...Purple Powerade at that!

So I was going to work last week and I threw cap on the Powerade I was drinking, slid it into the side pouch of my purse (where I keep my cell phone) and headed off to work.

10 minutes later I arrived at work and noticed my purse was leaking slightly. Who knew my purse was almost completely water-tight? So I reach into my now sloppy-soggy purse and grab my cell phone. It had been completely submerged in Powerade for who knows how many minutes. Of course right then it rang....Ian calling to ask me a question, and I couldn't hear him at all. So I set my phone aside, went to the restroom to dump out the remaining inch or so of Powerade and tried to dry it out the best I could.

I shut off my phone and took out the battery, luckily the battery and SIM card never got wet, but the display went out and wouldn't turn back on. So all weekend I've been without my phone, hoping it would dry out and I could use it again.
Oh and did I mention that my schedule for worship team just happened to be an old one, so I WAS supposed to be on this week, but I didn't know it! That's ok though because practice was moved to Friday night instead of Saturday night and I didn't know that either (no one could call me and tell me with a fritzed out phone)! So if I would have known I was on, I would have gone on the wrong night! Sometimes multiple misfortunes turn out to be fortunate in the end!

So, today I tried turning it back on. It worked! Well, the screen has this weird texture behind the picture to it now, it sort of looks like a map, so I put on a picture of lightning so it just looks like cool cloud formations! Problem solved, right?

Oh and soon I'll post some pics from Dana's trip! I just haven't gotten around to taking the cards out of my cameras yet!

Thursday Thanks Tank #36

This week has been pretty crazy, but a lot of fun! My friend Dana from Michigan came and stayed with us from Friday to Friday. We went to OMSI, the coast, Silver Creek Falls, the Salem Carousel, and right now we're about to go to around Foster Lake, then to Albany for Red Robin! (YUM!)

So I'm thankful for:

1. Dana's visit. It was a LOT of fun and she was a very good house guest.

2. Netflix. We got a subscription and it's fun watching all the movies we've missed over the years. (I didn't realize I put this one in last week, but it is REALLY cool!)

3. Good deals. We got 2 end tables for $25, I'm thinking of painting them black, but they're pretty nice and are the perfect size.

4. A clean house. What's better than that?

Ugh, I still can't say #3 from last week. I'm horrible with secrets, so those of you who know me well can understand how unbearable this is for me, but I've been sworn to secrecy by my husband. He's better at secrets than me.

Edit: Mom got my car title in the mail...that was #3!!! We paid off my car last month!!!!! WOOHOO!!!
