I had this happy blog all figured out, I had pictures of some stuff I was working on (and completed) today, and it was all light and fluffy and fun. Then I got an email from my mom.
My cousin Jill has been diagnosed with melanoma. Well, here's the email that was forwarded to me from my mom.
"Dear Nancy,
I am sending this note to let you know that Jill has just been diagnosed with melanoma. She went in a couple of weeks ago to have a mole removed. The Dr. called to say he had sent it to OHSU for a second opinion. The Dr. at OHSU confirmed the finding of melanoma.
Jill is at the Corvallis Clinic today for an ultrasound to see it the lumps on her arm and leg are related to the melanoma. Tomorrow, she will go back to the surgeon to have additional tissue removed from the area where the mole was removed. She is in the process of scheduling a CT scan to see if there is cancer in any other part of her body.
So, things are a bit uncertain right now and we are not sure of anything.....but we sure didn't want to hear the word "cancer" ever again. I will keep you updated as we learn anything new. Thank you for your concern and prayers....they are greatly appreciated.
Love, Connie"
Jill is Darian's aunt, Abby's sister. It's difficult to have someone else in the family diagnosed with cancer so soon after losing Darian. He's only been gone for a few months!
We know it's in God's hands. God loves and cares for His children and whatever is His will is best, but that doesn't make it easy. Please pray for Jill and her family (Husband Steve and sons Andrew and Ethan) as well as Abby. After losing her son this year it can't be easy to hear this news about her sister.
The light, fluffy post will come later, maybe tonight...right now I need to pray.
Old School FTW!

Sorry for the melenoma, but thank the Lord the doctors know what to look for and are able to help us fight cancer if even for a little while. I pray your family draws strength from God now in this time of uncertanty. Blessings.-me-(Mommy of two little blessings)
Of course I will be praying for Jill, and all your family. Keep me informed.
Are you okay? I'm coming to Lebanon to make an offer on a house today if you need someone to hang out with for awhile. I'm supposed to meet Bob at 11. So give me a call if you need me.
