Busy Weekends

Normally Ian and I are probably the most boring people in the world. We like to stay home and occasionally go to Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store, and if we're feeling really ambitious we go to PetCo. in Albany.

Yep, pretty boring.

However this summer we've decided to be a little less boring. After our trip to Maine we didn't want to get back into a rut of doing nothing, so we've been doing SOMETHING just about every weekend.

Weekend before last we went up to Seattle to a Mariners game with my parents and my Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob. My parents hadn't been to a Mariners game since before I was born and that was back when they played in the Kingdome.

It's a shame the Mariners didn't win. They didn't even come close to winning. It was still fun!

I love going to baseball games. I love the atmosphere. I love the chants, claps, cheers and waves. I love the food (although the food doesn't love me so much anymore). I love the people. Watching a baseball game on tv is nothing compared to experiencing it first hand at the field. Plus in the middle of the 7th inning (the 7th inning stretch) everyone stands up and sings "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." How fun is that?

Then we were wanting to take a trip to the Enchanted Forest, but being that we've done a lot of things this summer and money is a bit tight, we decided to go hiking up at McDowell Creek park last weekend. Kaitlin is our hiking buddy now, so we went up with her and did the around 2 mile long hike from the lower falls all the way up to Majestic Falls and back.

The falls are really low this time of year but that didn't stop tons of people from coming and seeing them. I have a travel book of places to see in the Northwest, and McDowell Creek park is listed as one of the "hidden treasures" of the Northwest! Woohoo! It never seemed so hidden to me, especially since I lived just a few miles up the hill from there until I was 7!

Our next hike is going to be up at Clear Lake I think, or maybe up to this little cabin near Fish Lake. I'm not sure which, and I'm not exactly sure when, but if you want to join us just let me know!
