You don't have to do anything about this one other than look at all the cute ideas Traci at Beneath My Heart has on her blog. She's giving away a bookshelf that she made in a tutorial, so if I don't win the bookshelf at least I can make one :)
Ian and I went to Teen Challenge and that Mennonite thrift shop in town yesterday. In Teen Challenge I didn't ask, but the price on one piece of furniture MUST have been wrong...it was $999 for a dresser/cabinet storage thing. What!?! We went to Ashley Furniture and found one very similar for $250 brand new. Maybe it was antique, but really? That much?
Ian and I need a new dresser, the one we have just isn't big enough and I can move the one we have into our spare bedroom for guests (ha!) or for a future nursery. I don't want to get rid of the one we have because my grandpa's aunt (yes seriously my great, great aunt) gave it to me. Well her husband gave it to me when she passed away, but she had wanted me to have them. I loved my Auntie Eleanore!
Really what I was looking for yesterday was a round end table. I want one for the awkward little space between our two couches, and I think an antique round end table would go great there, and be pleasing to me in future furniture settings.
Oh and I found a set of couches I REALLY want. They're mint green. YES! MINT! Crazy huh? When did I start liking mint green for furniture? The picture I found says "Seafoam" and it looks very seafoamy in the picture (which would actually be better for our decor) but make no mistake the one in the showroom was mint green! It was really funny when I fell in love with the set, I went and sat on it and told Ian that's what I want. The sales man there said "yes, there's nothing a man needs more than mint furniture" in a sarcastic voice. I ignored the sarcasm totally and said something sweet and chipper. The guy continued to follow us around until we told him we have student loans and would really rather not get any more debt so if we find something we love we'll be saving up for it (actually we'll be using our tax return for it more likely). The man left and never said another word to us.
Which is better really.
Well, ok to be perfectly honest I wanted the red set, but it totally doesn't go with our beach theme.

You know what is terrible about this? I didn't even know that you had a beach theme in your living room... I thought it was old movie reels and stuff.... Guess I should come see y0our house someti0me.0....
Kaden is putting in4 his two cents.... Thus the o dd numbers and spaces. :) Good luck interpreting! Good thing that is your trade!
I bought that movie reel stuff but underestimated the cost of purchasing more of the same style...even old movie reels are way expensive and hard to find!
Beach stuff is cheap!
Go figure!
Julie,
Thanks for the shout out! I'll enter your name two more times!
Blessings,
Traci
